What is a 24 Hour Holter Monitoring Test?

The 24-hour Holter monitoring test is a continuous test that is done to record your heart rate and rhythm for 24 hours. In this test, you wear the Holter monitor for 12 to 48 hours as you perform your normal daily routine. The electrodes and electrical leads of the device pick up your heart rhythm and rate as well as any instances of chest pain and symptoms of arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat.

This test is also known as Ambulatory electrocardiography. Your heart specialist in Kalyan may recommend you for the test if they want to know about heart rhythm

  • Abnormalities of heart rate ie.sudden fast or very slow heart rates can give rise to giddiness, unconsciousness or stroke.
